Performed countless independent shoring & cofferdam checks for Caltrans.

As part of being the Structure’s Representative representing Caltrans, as well as, being a Consultant to Caltrans, Sunny Jhutti was involved in independently checking the Shoring design at 101 Widening in Santa Rosa (2001), Maxwell Bridge (2003-2005), Hwy 80 HOV (2008), Hwy 101 Windsor (2009) Wilfred Ave Interchange (2009), Central Cotati (2010), etc.

Sunny Jhutti independently reviewed and approved various shoring systems for the above projects and many others. The more significant shoring systems reviewed and approved for MSE walls at Maxwell, and Wilfred Interchange, Cofferdams at Maxwell Bridge in the Napa River (2 levels of walers), and soldier pile with timber lagging and tie-rods for Central.

In addition to shoring for Caltrans, he designed shoring for the 1877 Centro West (soldier pile with lagging and shotcrete soil anchor), and he designed several temporary shoring for several residential homes.

Value Added to the Client

Sunny Jhutti reviewed the Shoring according to the Caltrans Trenching & Shoring Manual, and Cal-Osha Construction Safety Orders. He was trained by Caltrans Structures in 2003 (Winter Training on Shoring) and in 2009 (Consultant Training on Shoring by ACEC).
