Performed over 30 independent Falsework checks for Caltrans projects.

As part of being the Structure’s Representative representing Caltrans, as well as, being a Consultant to Caltrans, Sunny Jhutti was involved in independently checking the Falsework design at 101 Widening in Santa Rosa (2001), Maxwell Bridge (2003-2005), Hwy 80 HOV (2008), Hwy 101 Windsor (2009) Wilfred Ave Interchange (2009), Central Cotati (2010).

At Maxwell there were eight frames of Tension-Only Steel Pile Falsework, and four frames of adjustable pipe falsework. At Hwy 80 HOV & the Central Project, the Falsework system was Timber X-bracing with Steel Stringers. At Wilfred Ave Interchange, and Franklin OH, the Falsework was Steel Stringers with Timber Posts and Cable Bracing. At 101 Windsor, the Falsework was suspended off adjacent existing bridge to avoid the seasonal streambeds below.

In addition to Falsework, independent checks, Sunny Jhutti SE also reviewed temporary jacking plans, bridge removal plans, CIDH placement plans, etc.

In addition to Falsework for Caltrans, he designed the Falsework for the Olema Bridge, and designed several temporary shoring for several residential homes.

Sunny Jhutti reviewed the Falsework according to the Caltrans Falsework Manual, and Cal-Osha Construction Safety Orders.

He used the Caltrans Standard Specification to obtain the loads (gravity and lateral) and used a third party software program for analysis. He also reviewed several falsework frames by utilizing hand-calculation
