A Widening and Retrofit project on Highway 80.
This $25 million the “Hwy 80 HOV” widened a five-mile stretch of Hwy 80 in Solano County, from West Texas Road to Green Valley Rd. The new lanes will function as High-Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes, commonly known as “car-pool lanes.”
In addition to the new lanes, the project provided new sign structures along the highway; widened existing bridges at Ledgewood Creek, Green Valley Creek; and West Texas U.C. In addition, West Texas, Hwy 80/680 and Suisun Valley Road were retrofitted with cable restrainers, seat extenders, and column jacketing.
This project is another one of the Corridor Mobility Improvement Act (CMIA) Measure funded project and was partially administered by the Solano Transportation Authority (STA).
Sunny Jhutti’s role on this project was the Principal Assistant Structure’s Representative for Caltrans and reviewed technical submittals such as the West Texas U.C., Green Valley Creek, and Ledgewood Creek Falsework Review, various shoring reviews, the Bridge Removal Plans for all bridges, and the Concrete Mix Designs.
Value Added to the Client
