Commercial Truss Strengthening & Reframing
This commercial project was a truss strengthening to enable the existing roof to handle the additional load of new roof mounted equipment and significant remodel of the existing building.
The trusses were strengthened by the use of additional nailing, by the adding of strong-backs and new plywood gussets.
Value Added to the Client
As part of the design, we tried to salvage to the maximum, the existing timber trusses without the need of reframing the entire roof system.
The result was the repair was on the order of hundreds of dollars, saving thousands of dollars in potential reframing of the roof system.
